Centre Reopening Update

Centre Reopening Update

Pat Bree, DAC Chairperson

On behalf of everyone at Dundee Age Concern I want to say a heartfelt WELCOME BACK to all who support and use our centre at Fiveways.

Let us all take a big breath and be glad to have gotten through what has been the strangest and possibly,  for some, the saddest  and loneliest year we have all just experienced. I am sure not many of us can recall a year like we have just had!

Our Fiveways centre was closed on 23rd March 2020 and is about to open to clients again on the 6th of April 2021. That was just a little over a year when we couldn’t welcome clients into the Centre. During this period much has changed for so many and will continue to feel like nothing will be the same again  – but you will find the same lovely, friendly faces when you come back to the centre, albeit they will be wearing a mask. Our staff will, as always greet you with a warm welcome and make sure you are safe and well looked after while you are in Fiveways.

Your Fiveways friends will be looking for you when they too return, Graham the cook will be busy producing the much-loved delicacies loved by some ( e.g., Spam Fritters ). But perhaps best of all you will be in familiar company at Fiveways enjoying the comfort of a cup of tea and a blether with your pals.

Our Coordinator, Joyce, has posted a great video on Facebook for the first day back in the centre and will be there to greet you on your return to Fiveways, as will other staff members. Hope you all enjoy your return to Fiveways!
